Okay, got three requests, time to get to work. You'll probably get these by next year, LOL, JUST KIDDING!! (or not...)
I probably should have included that requests should be OC's. That's my fault because I didn't include conditions/rules in my last journal, but it's over now. It wouldn't be fair, lol. I'm such a noob at these things. OTL
That pic in your header - I can't make my mind up if it's 35mm or hipstermatic - or some software of the like - on an iPhone/smartphone...or even a filter on a DSLR.
Honestly, I don't remember which camera I'd taken that picture with. I think it was my digital camera then I edited it in Photoshop with gradients or something. I don't have anything good on my DSLR yet
I use a 35mm (pre-digital) SLR for some of my photography as it brings out a nice touch and texture to the frame. Of course a DSLR is more convenient, and for most commercial photography applications it speeds up my workflow.
Well, from a film maker's prospective, with no auto-focus in video mode, it's easier for newbies to have a proper video camera to learn on, before trying the professional techniques on HDSLR film making - because typically newbies always add in too many focus pulls at the wrong moment - and usually this occurs when a (H)DVCAM would have been more useful, such as live performances - HDSLR's are really better for producing short films, feature films, (I've been on a couple of BIG film shoots where a 7D has been used alongside a REDone) and most corporate applications.
That's probably why our movie trailer [our assignment] was so bad. I just ended up putting more filters and 3D/particle effects so no one would pay attention to how bad we filmed ourselves, lol. Seemed to work What kind projects you work on?
Feature film, corporate, advertising, and in my spare time I'm putting together my own SciFi pilot series. I also do a lot of live performances as well, and I'd like to branch into music video production at some point soon as well.
But yeah - you'd have been better of learning a lot of pro techniques via something like a Sony A1/Z1 or one of the Canon XF-series. They're a lot more expensive, but they are easier to use.
Not ours, it's not quite a university yet anyway. Our course is new to the school I'm attending, so I'm not sure they know what to do, haha. It's an IT college, but digital arts was added just recently.
Ah. Also - after effects might be a bit heavy to start editing with - premier, Avid or final cut pro might be better to introduce you to video editing. I find a lot of people who use adobe after effects too much - and this is especially true in corporate video production - where you find people defining video production as an animation which really don't mean anything, it's just a series of non-sensical slides which don't really deliver a clear message of what that company does.
Haha, maybe that's why many of us used premier or other programs like sony vegas rather than AE for putting our thesis together. Many of us didn't really understand AE anyway, or it just kept crashing... Companies prefer AE?
Meh, it's good for certain things - usually titles, or chroma key work. I only use it if I want to animate anything. It's workflow can be tricky for those who've not used it much, but once you get over it's initial layout, it gradually becomes easier to use - provided you've premier/final cut/avid/vegas pro before.
Prior to After Effects there was just Director or Flash to animate with in video production, both just took up too much time.
Haha, I don't like Flash. I didn't learn the animation shortcuts, I must have spaced out during class. I ended up animating frame by frame ):
After Effects would have been a bit more fun if our teacher actually taught us something, haha
I died myself! I was like, "o.o.................WHAT?? OMFGORD!! FFFFFFFFF-" ahahaha it was so crazy. the end image before the credits where Sebby is painting his nails made me gigglesnort
That video was pure crack, I'm almost scared to watch it again. lmao >
uber-late reply, I havn't been so active on making artn'stuff since my final project for 3D class, and I've been into Hetalia a lot right now, reading fanfics n' stuff... I'm scared to draw again cause I know I'd come out with 100+ Hetalia fanworks. D8<
